WebPhosphoranides A are hypervalent anionic phosphorus (III) compounds formally possessing a 10-electron valence shell and a distorted pseudotrigonal bipyramidal arrangement at the phosphorus atom. The electronegative ligands at phosphines make nucleophilic addition possible to afford stable phosphoranides (Figure 1 ).
